Paws & Hearts: Sweet Pups Ready for Adoption

Joy ❤ Paw-some Pup of the Week

JOY  is  currently being fostered in Bowmanville, ON

🐾 Meet Joy – A Little Dog with a Big Heart

📍 10 months old | 21 lbs | Chi/Pug mix (best guess)

💛 Looking for an experienced adopter or foster familiar with special needs dogs

Joy is a short, sturdy little gal with a big heart and an even bigger need for a special someone. She was born with hydrocephalus, and while her case is fairly severe, she’s defied the odds with her gentle spirit and loving nature.

She’s incredibly quiet—never makes a peep—and absolutely adores people and affection. Joy gets along well with other dogs, rides nicely in the car, and is even learning to use the doggy door (she’s about 50% there!). Like many hydro pups, she’s a slow learner, but she’s making steady progress every day.

Joy doesn’t spin in circles or have seizures, and aside from some depth perception challenges typical of neuro dogs, she has no major neurological issues. She’s sweet, silly, and full of potential for the right person who can offer her the patience and love she deserves.

We’re looking for a special needs adopter —ideally someone who has experience with hydro dogs and understands their unique care. Joy is truly a wonderful dog who will bring so much love and light into your life.

✨ Joy: a gentle soul with a silly streak, ready to bring sunshine to a special someone’s world.

Morel

MOREL  is  currently being fostered in Toronto.

🐾 Meet Morel ✨   Tall, slim, and blonde

Morel has been in foster care for a full year—and today, she stands as the last of the 17 dogs rescued after being abandoned at the side of a rural road. Her transformation is nothing short of extraordinary.

From feral and frightened to curious, resilient, and ready for love, Morel has come so far. 💛

Take a moment to watch this video and witness her journey. It’s a beautiful reminder of why we rescue—and why every dog deserves a second chance.

📹 Facebook  - Come and see how I've changed!

Morel is a stunning 10 lb girl, around 3–4 years old, rescued from a group of 17 dogs in rural Ontario. She’s full of quiet resilience and is now ready to find a patient, loving forever home where she can continue to grow and thrive.

A Spirit for the Outdoors 🌿   Morel loves to run and explore and feels most at ease surrounded by nature. She’s still cautious in new environments and gravitates toward women and calm, confident female dogs. She currently lives with two male dogs whom she mostly ignores. However, she’s not comfortable around small dogs or puppies and can be reactive toward them.

Personality in Progress 💛   Not quite a lap dog (yet), Morel is learning to trust at her own pace. Independent and spirited, she’ll flourish with someone who respects her space and celebrates her growth.

Medical & Care Notes 🩺

  • Diagnosed with GERD — needs poultry-free food + daily OTC meds
  • Should be fed separately as she learns to share
  • Healed leg injury — joint support is helpful but she remains active
  • Best suited for a home with minimal stairs

Training & Habits 🚗🐾   Morel is great in the car and usually naps during rides. She’s making steady progress with leash walking and potty training, especially with regular breaks or pad access. Crate training is slow — wire crates are a no-go due to past trauma, but she’s warming to large plastic or wooden ones. She has a strong bark when she’s excited or uncertain, though it took four months to hear her first bark — she’s still learning her voice.

What She Needs 🛏️   Morel is looking for a patient, dog-savvy person or family who understands her boundaries, sees her unique spirit, and is willing to earn her trust. She’s endured so much — and yet she continues to open her heart.

Morel has been  Rescued once. Ready to rise again — with you by her side.🐾❤️

Ellana

ELLANA  is  currently being fostered in Maple, ON.

🐾 Meet Ellana – Our Waddling Wonder with a Snaggle-Tooth Smile

Ellana is approximately 5–6 years young and weighs 12.5 pounds. She’s a quirky, lovable Pomchi with a snaggle tooth, a soft coat, and a waddle that’ll melt your heart. Her personality is a delightful mix of silly, sweet, and a little bit spicy—she keeps us laughing every day.

🔥 A Survivor’s Story   Ellana was rescued from ACS after landing on the euthanasia list. Before that, she survived a hoarding situation where the home caught fire, and animal control intervened. She’s been through a lot, but she’s come out the other side with resilience and heart.

🩺 Medical Notes   Ellana had a large cancerous mammary mass removed, and she’s doing well post-surgery. She also has a rare little “tick”—occasionally, she makes a fish-like mouth movement. It’s infrequent, doesn’t bother her, and may be neurological or stress-related. The vet saw no cause for concern.

👀 Personality & Behavior   Ellana takes a day or two to warm up to new people. She may bark or give the side-eye, but she’s not aggressive. If cornered, she might nip, so we’re looking for a home without children. Once she feels safe, she’s incredibly affectionate—by lunchtime, she’ll likely be in your lap.

🐶 Social Butterfly with Boundaries   She gets along well with cats and dogs, though she’s a bit of a “mama bear.” She’ll break up rough play, set boundaries, and let everyone know when it’s nap time. She’s confident, playful, and loves her furry friends—but she’s also the boss.

🛁 Care & Handling   Ellana does great at the vet, and she’s fine with baths and nail trims. She’s protective of her people around strangers but warms up quickly once she knows they’re safe.

🏡 Ready for Her Real Home   Ellana is soft, attentive, and truly listens when you talk to her. She deserves a home where she can be understood, loved, and appreciated for the unique gem she is.

Ellana needs a family because every mama bear deserves a place to rest her heart. 💫🐾❤️

Marco

MARCO  is  currently being fostered in Markham, ON.

🐾 Meet Marco – A Gentle Soul with a Unique Smile

📍 Approx. 5–8 months old | 17 lbs | Purebred Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) 🎯 Estimated adult weight: 40–50 lbs

Marco is a stunning young Blue Heeler with a heart as beautiful as his unique face. Born with a bilateral cleft lip, Marco may look a little different, but this birth defect doesn’t slow him down one bit. He eats just like any other dog—he just needs a little extra dental care to keep food and debris from getting stuck in that area. It’s important to note this is not a cleft palate, and he can enjoy all types of food without issue.

Sweet, gentle, and full of love
Marco is a cuddle-loving, affectionate boy. He can be shy when meeting new people or experiencing new places, but once he feels safe, he turns into the sweetest little love bug. With patience, positive training, and lots of encouragement, Marco will blossom into the loyal, snuggly companion he was born to be

Dog-friendly + social
Marco LOVES other dogs and makes furry friends easily. He’s friendly, loving, and always eager to play.

Potty Training Progress
He may do a bit of nervous peeing right now, but he’s already improving! When he needs to go, he’ll head to the door. He adores the outdoors and loves to run, explore, and play.

A fenced yard would be a dream for him — perfect for fetch, zoomies, and giving him a safe space to call his own.

A soul full of love
Marco has a huge heart, a beautiful spirit, and so much affection to give. He just wants someone to cuddle, trust, and adore forever.

✨ Marco: a nervous nelly with a heart of gold, waiting for someone to see past the shy and love him for the gem he truly is.

Tabitha and Tink

TABITHA AND TINK  are currently being fostered in Tillsonburgh,  ON.

🌟 Meet Tabitha & Tink – The Cheeseburger Sisters! 🍔💜

Tabitha (10 years, 7.8 lbs) is a pointy‑eared Chihuahua with a big love for cheeseburgers and a heart that’s just as big. She’s a little on the thin side, but with TLC (and the occasional burger treat), she’s filling out beautifully.

Tink (8 years, 6.8 lbs) is a scruffy Chihuahua‑Terrier mix with the cutest terrier whiskers. She’s never known life without Tabitha, and the two are inseparable—true sisters at heart.

✨ Their Story   These girls weren’t well cared for before coming to us, but their best chapter is just beginning. Both have had dentals and blood work, and they’re doing well for their age. They’re picky eaters (hot dogs and cheeseburgers are their guilty pleasures), but with patience and routine, they’re thriving.

✨ Their Needs

  • A loving home together—they are extremely bonded.
  • Stability, routine, and lots of cozy comforts (heating pads and sweaters are a must, since they’re always chilly!).
  • Gentle introductions to new people and pets—they may bark at first, but quickly settle and are never aggressive.
  • Pee pad trained ✅ and leash‑friendly (though winter walks might not be their favorite).

✨ Why You’ll Love Them   Tabitha and Tink are typical Chihuahuas: loyal, spirited, and endlessly entertaining. They’ll bring joy, laughter, and companionship to the right home. They’ve captured our hearts, and we know they’ll capture yours too.

💜 These girls need YOU to give them the forever home they deserve. Could you be the one to write their happy ending?

Peanut

PEANUT  is currently being fostered in Delhi. ON

Meet Peanut — Queen of Her Castle

Peanut is an adorable 8–10-year-old, 10-pound sweetheart with a gentle soul and a big story. She came to us as a stray, underweight and unsure, but with time, patience, and lots of love, she’s learned to trust again. This girl is seriously food-motivated — she’s up from 8 to 10 pounds now! — and because she has only a few teeth left after her dental, she prefers home-cooked meals over traditional dog food. (We’re pretty sure it’s a habit from her street-scrap days.)

Peanut has her quirks, but they make her who she is. She sometimes snacks right away or saves her food for later. She LOVES her morning and bedtime treats. She’s pee-pad trained (though her aim isn’t always perfect ) and will also go outside — as long as you go with her.

She is shy at first and needs plenty of time, patience, consistency, and a predictable routine to feel safe. Peanut has “stranger danger,” is nervous with unfamiliar people, and can be protective of her home. She’s wonderful with the dogs she lives with but not a fan of visiting dogs or guests, so she may need to be penned or crated when company comes over. No children, and no apartments — she takes her job as castle guard very seriously and has the protective barking to prove it.

When being picked up, she may yelp at first due to past trauma, but with gentle handling (we use a three-piece harness), she settles and learns to trust. Once she bonds with you, though… she’s pure magic. Peanut dances for her people, wags her tail nonstop, follows you around the house, and gives the best cuddles and snuggles — especially in bed.

She loves car rides, enjoys her walks, and fun fact: walking is the one time she doesn’t bark at people or other dogs.

Peanut needs her happily-ever-after. She’ll be a bit of work in the beginning, but the reward is immeasurable. If you have a soft voice, a loving heart, and the patience to help her shine, she’ll give you loyalty, love, and joy in return.

Pepsi

PEPSI  is currently being fostered in Brantford. ON

Meet Pepsi — a gentle, adaptable sweetheart ready to brighten someone’s life.

Pepsi is a 5‑year‑old Shih Tzu mix weighing approximately 25 lbs, and she’s currently working hard on her weight‑loss journey.

Through no fault of her own, Pepsi found herself in foster care—and she settled in immediately. She’s wonderfully adaptable, even spending the holidays travelling with her foster family. While she has mild car anxiety, she rides beautifully when she can sit beside a trusted human.

Pepsi has been exposed to children as young as 3, dogs of all sizes (from tiny 2 kg pups to 60 kg gentle giants), and even cats—and she’s done fantastic with everyone. She’s a loving, social girl with excellent people skills. She communicates her boundaries with other dogs in the kindest, gentlest ways and has never shown aggression toward people or animals. She enjoys running around with other dogs but is still learning how to play. Toys aren’t really her thing yet, but belly rubs are her absolute favourite.

Pepsi is house‑trained and pee‑pad trained when needed. She’s flexible with sleeping arrangements—free‑range in the living room at home or curled up on her own bed while travelling. Best of all, she’s not destructive.

Medically, Pepsi has luxating patellas and mild dry, flaky skin. When she was spayed, her umbilical hernia was repaired. She is fully healed and up to date on all vaccinations.

Overall, Pepsi is an incredible cuddle‑bug with nothing but positive energy to share. She would thrive in almost any loving home and is ready to find her forever family

.

✨ Pepsi: Proof that the best gifts come wrapped in fur and love.

Charity

CHARITY  is currently being fostered in Texas.

Meet Charity — a tiny, tender soul searching for safety, patience, and love.

Charity is approximately 2 years young and weighs just 8 pounds. She is a scared, nervous little girl who is still learning that the world can be kind. Charity is good with other dogs and cats, and she bonds quickly with dogs her own size. She has been around dogs from 5–25 lbs of all ages and does wonderfully with them, though she can be nervous around large, hyper dogs.

In the month she has been in foster care, her foster family has never heard her bark. Charity won’t approach you on her own yet, but gentle baby talk helps her feel a bit braver. When she’s in her safe space or curled up in her favorite bed, she will reluctantly allow pets and let you pick her up.

Charity has never bitten her foster family—not during vet visits, baths, vaccines, ear cleaning, nail trims, cuddles, or even when they “force their love upon her,” as they lovingly put it. However, because she is so fearful, we cannot say with 100% certainty that she would never nip if she felt cornered or overwhelmed, especially by intimidating strangers or young children who move quickly. Her fear response is to freeze, with eyes wide like saucers, and to look for a place to hide.

Despite her fears, Charity has a sweet, gentle nature. With time, trust, and a calm environment, we know she will blossom into a timid but loving companion—the kind of little dog who eventually curls up on the couch beside her humans and snuggles in bed at night. She just needs patience, consistency, and love.

Charity carries emotional baggage from her past. She was found pregnant, gave birth at her finder’s home, and tragically, all five of her babies passed away within 24 hours. Her heart has been through so much. She has already come a long way in foster care, but she needs a quiet, stable home to truly heal and feel safe.

Charity requires a home with no young children, and a fenced yard would be ideal. She is not yet ready for leash or harness walking, but with time, we believe she will try—and one day may follow her person everywhere.

Please consider giving this fragile little girl the chance she deserves. ❤️

✨ Charity: Proof that even the smallest hearts can hold the biggest hopes for love.

Winter

WINTER  is currently being fostered in Texas.

Meet Winter — a tiny spark of joy ready to blossom into her best self.

Winter is approximately 5–8 months old and weighs just 6 pounds. She came to us as an orphaned puppy from a South Texas shelter, and while we truly have no idea what she’s mixed with, she’s adorable from every angle. With her long square snout, tiny feet, chunky little legs, and short stature, we’ve been calling her a Chi/Terrier mix—but honestly, your guess is as good as ours! We expect she’ll grow to around 12–15 pounds fully grown.

Winter is a happy, lively, squirmy, social puppy who is still adjusting to the safety and comfort of rescued life. Based on her mannerisms, we suspect she may have lived outdoors or been born a stray, as she’s still learning many normal puppy behaviours. The good news? She can only go up from here, and we know she’ll continue to blossom brighter every day.

She is great with cats, kids, and dogs, making her a wonderful fit for many types of homes. Like all young pups, Winter will definitely need basic Puppy 101 training to help her grow into a confident, well‑mannered companion.

✨ Winter: proof that even the smallest beginnings can grow into something beautiful.

Dax

DAX  is currently being fostered in Texas.

Meet Dax – the sweetest little soul looking for his people

Dax is a shy but incredibly gentle young boy, approximately 1–2 years old and currently 6.8 lbs. He arrived to us quite underweight, and his ideal size is closer to 7.5–8 lbs — which means he’s happily enjoying the extra nutrition and snacks he’s getting in foster care.

He has a wonderfully calm demeanor and isn’t overly barky. Dax gets along beautifully with other animals and has such a soft, kind presence.

This little guy is timid when meeting new humans. He won’t rush up for kisses on day one — instead, he prefers to quietly observe and keep a bit of distance until he feels safe. He’s not aggressive at all; he simply tries to hide when he’s unsure. But once he realizes he’s among friends, his whole heart opens up.

Within just 8 hours in foster care, Dax was climbing into laps, seeking affection, and showing us his true, loving personality. He just needs a little time and patience to build confidence.

He’s doing very well with his wee pads, and he’s an absolute sweetheart in every way. With gentle socializing and encouragement, Dax will blossom into the devoted, cuddly companion he’s meant to be.

We all adore this baby — his sweetness shines through in everything he does.

Astrid

ASTRID  is currently being fostered in Waterdown, ON.

Meet Astrid -  A gentle, loving companion who will blossom with kindness and patience

Astrid is approximately 1.5 years old, 13.5 pounds, and a charming little terrier mix with a soft, submissive nature. She is very sweet, great with other dogs, and walks nicely on leash, though she’s still building her confidence. She was a bit nervous about having her leash and harness put on at first, but once she’s moving, she does wonderfully.

Astrid can be a bit of a nervous Nelly, but she warms up quickly and adapts to new places, people, and routines faster than you’d expect. During her first couple of days, she did some nervous peeing, especially when being picked up — her one little quirk — but it fades quickly once she feels safe. Picking her up before she rolls onto her back or giving her a moment helps prevent those early “oopsies.”

She is a gentle, young, playful girl who gets along beautifully with other animals and older children. A home without toddlers or very young, high‑energy kids would be best, simply because her sensitive nature might find that overwhelming. Once she settles in, she bonds deeply and becomes much more confident and relaxed.

Astrid is a truly lovely dog who just needs a couple of days to settle into her new routine. After that, her sweet personality shines through.

Astrid is ready to steal your heart. Adopt this sweet girl and let her become your little shadow.
