JOY is currently being fostered in Bowmanville, ON
🐾 Meet Joy – A Little Dog with a Big Heart
📍 10 months old | 21 lbs | Chi/Pug mix (best guess)
💛 Looking for an experienced adopter or foster familiar with special needs dogs
Joy is a short, sturdy little gal with a big heart and an even bigger need for a special someone. She was born with hydrocephalus, and while her case is fairly severe, she’s defied the odds with her gentle spirit and loving nature.
She’s incredibly quiet—never makes a peep—and absolutely adores people and affection. Joy gets along well with other dogs, rides nicely in the car, and is even learning to use the doggy door (she’s about 50% there!). Like many hydro pups, she’s a slow learner, but she’s making steady progress every day.
Joy doesn’t spin in circles or have seizures, and aside from some depth perception challenges typical of neuro dogs, she has no major neurological issues. She’s sweet, silly, and full of potential for the right person who can offer her the patience and love she deserves.
We’re looking for a special needs adopter —ideally someone who has experience with hydro dogs and understands their unique care. Joy is truly a wonderful dog who will bring so much love and light into your life.
✨ Joy: a gentle soul with a silly streak, ready to bring sunshine to a special someone’s world.

ELLANA is currently being fostered in Maple, ON.
🐾 Meet Ellana – Our Waddling Wonder with a Snaggle-Tooth Smile
Ellana is approximately 5–6 years young and weighs 12.5 pounds. She’s a quirky, lovable Pomchi with a snaggle tooth, a soft coat, and a waddle that’ll melt your heart. Her personality is a delightful mix of silly, sweet, and a little bit spicy—she keeps us laughing every day.
🔥 A Survivor’s Story Ellana was rescued from ACS after landing on the euthanasia list. Before that, she survived a hoarding situation where the home caught fire, and animal control intervened. She’s been through a lot, but she’s come out the other side with resilience and heart.
🩺 Medical Notes Ellana had a large cancerous mammary mass removed, and she’s doing well post-surgery. She also has a rare little “tick”—occasionally, she makes a fish-like mouth movement. It’s infrequent, doesn’t bother her, and may be neurological or stress-related. The vet saw no cause for concern.
👀 Personality & Behavior Ellana takes a day or two to warm up to new people. She may bark or give the side-eye, but she’s not aggressive. If cornered, she might nip, so we’re looking for a home without children. Once she feels safe, she’s incredibly affectionate—by lunchtime, she’ll likely be in your lap.
🐶 Social Butterfly with Boundaries She gets along well with cats and dogs, though she’s a bit of a “mama bear.” She’ll break up rough play, set boundaries, and let everyone know when it’s nap time. She’s confident, playful, and loves her furry friends—but she’s also the boss.
🛁 Care & Handling Ellana does great at the vet, and she’s fine with baths and nail trims. She’s protective of her people around strangers but warms up quickly once she knows they’re safe.
🏡 Ready for Her Real Home Ellana is soft, attentive, and truly listens when you talk to her. She deserves a home where she can be understood, loved, and appreciated for the unique gem she is.
Ellana needs a family because every mama bear deserves a place to rest her heart. 💫🐾❤️

MARCO is currently being fostered in Markham, ON.
🐾 Meet Marco – A Gentle Soul with a Unique Smile
📍 Approx. 5–8 months old | 17 lbs | Purebred Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) 🎯 Estimated adult weight: 40–50 lbs
Marco is a stunning young Blue Heeler with a heart as beautiful as his unique face. Born with a bilateral cleft lip, Marco may look a little different, but this birth defect doesn’t slow him down one bit. He eats just like any other dog—he just needs a little extra dental care to keep food and debris from getting stuck in that area. It’s important to note this is not a cleft palate, and he can enjoy all types of food without issue.
Sweet, gentle, and full of love
Marco is a cuddle-loving, affectionate boy. He can be shy when meeting new people or experiencing new places, but once he feels safe, he turns into the sweetest little love bug. With patience, positive training, and lots of encouragement, Marco will blossom into the loyal, snuggly companion he was born to be
Dog-friendly + social
Marco LOVES other dogs and makes furry friends easily. He’s friendly, loving, and always eager to play.
Potty Training Progress
He may do a bit of nervous peeing right now, but he’s already improving! When he needs to go, he’ll head to the door. He adores the outdoors and loves to run, explore, and play.
A fenced yard would be a dream for him — perfect for fetch, zoomies, and giving him a safe space to call his own.
A soul full of love
Marco has a huge heart, a beautiful spirit, and so much affection to give. He just wants someone to cuddle, trust, and adore forever.
✨ Marco: a nervous nelly with a heart of gold, waiting for someone to see past the shy and love him for the gem he truly is.

PEANUT is currently being fostered in Delhi. ON
Meet Peanut — Queen of Her Castle
Peanut is an adorable 8–10-year-old, 10-pound sweetheart with a gentle soul and a big story. She came to us as a stray, underweight and unsure, but with time, patience, and lots of love, she’s learned to trust again. This girl is seriously food-motivated — she’s up from 8 to 10 pounds now! — and because she has only a few teeth left after her dental, she prefers home-cooked meals over traditional dog food. (We’re pretty sure it’s a habit from her street-scrap days.)
Peanut has her quirks, but they make her who she is. She sometimes snacks right away or saves her food for later. She LOVES her morning and bedtime treats. She’s pee-pad trained (though her aim isn’t always perfect ) and will also go outside — as long as you go with her.
She is shy at first and needs plenty of time, patience, consistency, and a predictable routine to feel safe. Peanut has “stranger danger,” is nervous with unfamiliar people, and can be protective of her home. She’s wonderful with the dogs she lives with but not a fan of visiting dogs or guests, so she may need to be penned or crated when company comes over. No children, and no apartments — she takes her job as castle guard very seriously and has the protective barking to prove it.
When being picked up, she may yelp at first due to past trauma, but with gentle handling (we use a three-piece harness), she settles and learns to trust. Once she bonds with you, though… she’s pure magic. Peanut dances for her people, wags her tail nonstop, follows you around the house, and gives the best cuddles and snuggles — especially in bed.
She loves car rides, enjoys her walks, and fun fact: walking is the one time she doesn’t bark at people or other dogs.
Peanut needs her happily-ever-after. She’ll be a bit of work in the beginning, but the reward is immeasurable. If you have a soft voice, a loving heart, and the patience to help her shine, she’ll give you loyalty, love, and joy in return.

PEPSI is currently being fostered in Brantford. ON
Meet Pepsi — a gentle, adaptable sweetheart ready to brighten someone’s life.
Pepsi is a 5‑year‑old Shih Tzu mix weighing approximately 25 lbs, and she’s currently working hard on her weight‑loss journey.
Through no fault of her own, Pepsi found herself in foster care—and she settled in immediately. She’s wonderfully adaptable, even spending the holidays travelling with her foster family. While she has mild car anxiety, she rides beautifully when she can sit beside a trusted human.
Pepsi has been exposed to children as young as 3, dogs of all sizes (from tiny 2 kg pups to 60 kg gentle giants), and even cats—and she’s done fantastic with everyone. She’s a loving, social girl with excellent people skills. She communicates her boundaries with other dogs in the kindest, gentlest ways and has never shown aggression toward people or animals. She enjoys running around with other dogs but is still learning how to play. Toys aren’t really her thing yet, but belly rubs are her absolute favourite.
Pepsi is house‑trained and pee‑pad trained when needed. She’s flexible with sleeping arrangements—free‑range in the living room at home or curled up on her own bed while travelling. Best of all, she’s not destructive.
Medically, Pepsi has luxating patellas and mild dry, flaky skin. When she was spayed, her umbilical hernia was repaired. She is fully healed and up to date on all vaccinations.
Overall, Pepsi is an incredible cuddle‑bug with nothing but positive energy to share. She would thrive in almost any loving home and is ready to find her forever family
.
✨ Pepsi: Proof that the best gifts come wrapped in fur and love.

WINTER is currently being fostered in Cambridge, ON
Meet Winter — a tiny spark of joy ready to blossom into her best self.
Winter is approximately 5–8 months old and weighs just 6 pounds. She came to us as an orphaned puppy from a South Texas shelter, and while we truly have no idea what she’s mixed with, she’s adorable from every angle. With her long square snout, tiny feet, chunky little legs, and short stature, we’ve been calling her a Chi/Terrier mix—but honestly, your guess is as good as ours! We expect she’ll grow to around 12–15 pounds fully grown.
Winter is a happy, lively, squirmy, social puppy who is still adjusting to the safety and comfort of rescued life. Based on her mannerisms, we suspect she may have lived outdoors or been born a stray, as she’s still learning many normal puppy behaviours. The good news? She can only go up from here, and we know she’ll continue to blossom brighter every day.
She is great with cats, kids, and dogs, making her a wonderful fit for many types of homes. Like all young pups, Winter will definitely need basic Puppy 101 training to help her grow into a confident, well‑mannered companion.
✨ Winter: proof that even the smallest beginnings can grow into something beautiful.

KAI is currently being fostered in Hamilton, ON.
Meet Kai — and trust us, you’re going to fall in love.
This 5–8 month old, 12‑pound, silver‑coated heart‑stealer is expected to grow to 25–30 pounds. With his stunning hazel eyes and unique colouring, he’s a proud 100% mystery mutt — honestly, he looks like someone tossed a silver lab in the dryer, and the result is perfection.
Kai is the definition of a sweet, silly, high‑energy puppy. He’s not much of a barker, but he lives for running, playing, and fetching. He’s incredibly smart, picks up routines quickly, and is genuinely fun to train.
At bedtime, he may give a tiny whine while settling into his crate, but then sleeps through the night like a dream. His outdoor potty training is coming along beautifully, and he’s eager to keep learning.
This boy is very social and absolutely adores other dogs. He’d be over the moon to have another young, playful companion in the home. He’s also being fostered with cats and is learning polite puppy manners — no aggression, just curiosity and enthusiasm.
Kai would thrive in a family with children to play with. Like any puppy, he’s still mastering gentle play, but his leash skills are improving every single day.
Social, silly, smart, loving, cuddly — and very much all boy — Kai is a joyful, affectionate pup who will grow into an incredible dog with love, guidance, and patience. He’s a genuinely good kid who’s ready to become someone’s devoted family member.
Kai: the perfect mix of goofy, gorgeous, and guaranteed to steal your heart.

SHADOW is currently being fostered in Hamilton, ON.
Meet Shadow — and oh, this little soul is ready for the love he’s always deserved.
Shadow is approximately 1.5 years old and around 18 pounds — the perfect “pick‑me‑up” size with a fluffy tail and a soft, medium‑length coat that makes him extra huggable.
His story is heartbreaking. He was found running down the street wearing a collar with a phone number. When contacted, the “owner” casually stated they were on vacation and had left him in the backyard with food and water… then blocked us when asked if they planned to come get him. Shadow was abandoned — and he deserves so much better.
Despite everything, this boy’s spirit is still gentle and hopeful. He can be a little nervous for the first minute when meeting new people or entering new places, but a bit of baby talk, a few pets, and a kiss on the head, and suddenly he’s your new best friend. Once he trusts you, he is social, friendly, silly, and incredibly sweet. Honestly, who could blame him for being cautious after what he’s been through?
Shadow is a wonderful mix of playful and chill. He loves to play, loves to cuddle, and loves being near his people. He gets along beautifully with all animals, and although we haven’t tested him with children, his temperament suggests he’d be lovely with respectful kids.
He walks well on leash and keeps his kennel clean. He’s not fully potty trained yet, but he holds it all night in his kennel run. With his eager‑to‑please personality, a belly band and a bit of consistency should have him fully trained in no time.
Shadow is a tender, resilient little dog who just wants to feel safe, loved, and chosen.
Shadow: once abandoned, now ready to be adored — forever.

ANIKAN is currently being fostered in Burlington, ON.
Meet Anikan — and get ready, because this little legend is pure sunshine in a 10‑pound package.
Anikan is approximately 2 years young and a compact 10 pounds, saved from our local shelter and already proving himself to be one of the friendliest, happiest, most well‑mannered little dudes you’ll ever meet.
He’s super social, not overly barky, and walks beautifully on leash. He loves people, kids, and animals — truly an all‑around good boy with a fantastic, easygoing demeanor. This kid just radiates joy.
Anikan will bring so much happiness into your life and absolutely become someone’s best buddy. And we can’t help but laugh at how buff he is — this tiny guy is surprisingly muscular, like a pocket‑sized gym bro.
Anikan: small in size, huge in heart, and ready to be your new favourite sidekick.

GRANDMA DIXIE is currently being fostered in Ancaster.
Meet Granny Dixie — the quirky little old lady who has completely stolen our hearts. (Please read the full bio)
This sweet senior is approximately 10–12 years old and around 14 pounds, rescued from a high‑kill shelter in Pleasanton. She arrived in rough shape, but it’s clear that once upon a time, someone truly loved her. She came to us already spayed, with evidence of past dental work, and she has excellent potty manners. She also walks beautifully on leash and absolutely lives for her daily strolls.
Granny Dixie carries some of her past on her body — scarring around her neck suggests she may have been tied up or left in a too‑tight collar for far too long. She was thin, with low muscle mass, and her coat was dry, dirty, and sun‑fried from being outdoors. But with good food, care, and love, she’s already improving. Her coat is softening, her body condition is better, and her spirit is shining through.
She has typical senior arthritis in her back legs, but she doesn’t appear to be in pain. And here’s the most endearing thing: we have never heard her make a sound. Not a bark, not a whimper — nothing. She is the definition of easy‑peasy.
Dixie loves people, loves gentle attention, and loves baby talk. She’ll follow you around the house like a tiny Southern grandma supervising the day’s activities. She isn’t needy, and she’s not a fan of being overly coddled — no squeezing, scooping, or smothering kisses for this lady. She prefers companionship over cuddling, presence over fuss.
She gets along with every dog, happily lets others lie beside her, and checks on them like the wise matriarch she is. She has zero anxiety, goes with the flow, and brings a calm, grounding energy wherever she goes. A low‑key home would be ideal, though she’d be perfectly fine with visits from respectful young family members.
A note on her medical needs: Granny Dixie has dermal hemangiomas, which are typically benign growths made of extra blood vessels — often appearing as red or purple “strawberry marks.” The vet believes they are likely non‑cancerous. The only way to know with certainty would be to biopsy them, which requires anesthesia. Given her age and the fact that she doesn’t need anesthesia for any other procedures, the risk outweighs the benefit. Even if these growths were cancerous, treatment options at her age would be extremely limited.
Granny Dixie is not just adoptable — she is adopt‑worthy. A gentle, soulful, quirky senior who wants nothing more than to be near her person and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.
Granny Dixie: the quiet, steady, heart‑melting Southern grandma who’s ready for her soft landing.

SULLY is currently being fostered in Texas.
Meet Sully — our sweet, gentle, loving little miracle girl, and she is so ready for her next chapter.
Sully is approximately 10 months to 1 year old and weighs 18 pounds. She came to us after being hit by a car, found running the streets with no chip, no tags, no spay, and no owner looking for her. We believe she’s a Frenchton — a French Bulldog/Boston Terrier mix — and she has every bit of the charm that comes with it.
This girl has a wonderful demeanor and is truly one of the sweetest pups you’ll ever meet. She can be a little nervous when meeting new dogs or people, but give her 20 minutes and she transforms into everyone’s new best friend. She loves to play, but she’s a gentle playmate. She adores cuddles, gives endless kisses, and loves being held like a baby.
Sully is usually quiet, but she gets adorably excited at breakfast time or when you first walk through the door — just happy barking, nothing excessive. She’s not a fan of being crated at home, but she crates beautifully in the car for rides.
Sully does have hydrocephalus, which appears to be mild. If you search the condition online, you’ll find a lot of scary information — but after rescuing hydro pups for 15 years, we can confidently say that those severe symptoms occur in a small percentage. Sully acts like a regular dog — just a little special.
She has:
She may be a tiny bit slower at some things, but she is joyful, loving, and thriving.
Sully: a tender, resilient little sweetheart who just wants to be loved — and will love you right back with her whole heart.

GINGER is currently being fostered in Texas.
Meet Ginger - Small in size, big in heart — and ready to love again.
Ginger may be around 8–10 years old, but she certainly doesn’t act like a senior. At just 10 pounds, she’s full of life, curiosity, and gentle affection. She loves her cuddles, blankets, and nap time, but she’s equally happy exploring the outdoors and following her humans around during their daily chores.
She is great with all animals, wonderful with people, and does beautifully with well‑mannered, gentle children. Ginger is a total cutie pie with a lovely temperament—polite, calm, and easygoing. She adjusts quickly to new routines and new people, taking everything in stride.
Ginger came to us after her beloved human papa passed away. She’s now looking for a new family to help her heal and welcome her back into a home filled with love and security.
She recently had a dental cleaning and, although she lost a few teeth, she still has plenty of pearly whites—and now enjoys fresh breath too. Ginger is still learning leash and harness walking and can be a little nervous, but she’s trying her best with gentle encouragement. Her potty manners are very good; she goes outdoors or uses a wee pad reliably.
Ginger is her original name, and it suits her perfectly—sweet, warm, and comforting. She’s ready to bring love, companionship, and quiet joy to a family who will cherish her.

Dallas is currently being fostered in Texas.
Meet Dallas – A Chi Mix with the Happiest Heart
Dallas is an adorable 4–8‑month‑old, 8‑pound chi mix who will likely grow to about 18–22 pounds once fully grown. He came to us from a hoarding situation, and while many dogs arrive frightened and shut down, Dallas was the complete opposite—this boy arrived SO happy.
From the moment he stepped through the door, he was running around, rolling in all the bedding, making new friends, and radiating pure joy. It was as if he instantly knew life had just taken a turn for the better.
Dallas is goofy, sweet, loving, and absolutely adores food. He’s wonderful with cats, kids, and other dogs, and he acclimates quickly to new places and routines. He loves love, toys, cheerful people, cozy blankets, and a warm bed.
He’s one of those special dogs who truly seems grateful to be rescued. If he’s this happy at the rescue, just imagine how over‑the‑moon he’ll be when he realizes he’s HOME—in a real house, with a family of his very own. Honestly, it might just blow his little mind in the best way.
Dallas needs a loving family with a special place in their heart.

Butch is currently being fostered in Texas.
Meet Butch (aka Butchy… aka Toby 😄) – A Gentle Soul Seeking Safety & Patience
Butch, a 4–5‑year‑old, 16‑pound sweetheart with a rare chocolate merle coat and the softest, saddest eyes you’ll ever meet. His name is Butch, but he also answers to Toby or Toby‑Tobe, thanks to a certain someone who keeps accidentally calling him that—so now he knows both!
Butch came to us when his mom entered hospice care. He arrived overweight at 20 lbs, but he’s now down to 16.5 lbs, and a healthy weight for him will be around 13–15 lbs.
Butch is a deeply fearful, under‑socialized dog who lived a very sheltered life. He is afraid of everything, including his own shadow. When he first arrived, he was absolutely terrified—but never once aggressive. You can pick him up, but he doesn’t seek out affection or attention, and he doesn’t yet know how to ask for love.
Most days, Butch hides under a shelf on a cozy bed we made for him. He allows gentle pets, though he freezes when touched. Recently, he’s become a tiny bit less stiff, and we’re hopeful that in a few more weeks he may even pretend to enjoy it.
Despite his fear, Butch is slowly showing us glimpses of who he really is. When he thinks no one is watching, he relaxes with the other dogs, even prances around, and looks genuinely content. He likes going outside, though he prefers not to be out there with people—he behaves very much like a feral or semi‑feral dog, but with zero aggression. In many ways, he’s like having a cat in a dog’s body.
Butch is wonderful with all other animals. He hasn’t met children, but he would likely be fine with older, calm kids. A toddler’s energy would absolutely terrify him.
Butch is a dog who will blossom slowly—very slowly—but beautifully. Once he is in a quiet, patient home with gentle hands and soft voices, he will begin to trust, grieve, adjust, and eventually love. He will never be a bold, confident dog, but he will be a loyal, tender companion to someone who understands his journey.
He has been through so much, and he deserves someone who sees the dog he can be, not just the fear he carries today. I believe in him—and I hope someone out there will too. 💜

CRICKET is currently being fostered in Texas.
Meet Cricket – A Sensitive Soul Looking for His Person
Cricket is an adorable 10‑year‑old, 11‑pound little gentleman who recently had a dental, leaving him with 15 teeth missing—but don’t worry, he still has 12 pearly whites and a charming smile. Cricket came to us after his beloved human dad passed away, and he has been grieving in his own quiet way.
Cricket can be incredibly sweet and loving, but he does need a few days to warm up to new people. With me, he bonded quickly and has always been affectionate. With the rest of the team, it took him a couple of days, and within a week he was comfortable with everyone. He recently met a retired couple and was wonderful with them, and he behaved beautifully at the vet.
Once in a while, he meets someone he isn’t quite ready for, and he may growl or try to get away if picked up too quickly. Ninety percent of the time he’s perfect—ten percent of the time he’s a chihuahua.
Cricket is a deeply loving boy once he trusts you. He bonds fast and becomes a total cuddle bug with his person.
Inside, he wears a belly band while he adjusts. He doesn’t always mark, but it has happened a couple of times, so a belly band is recommended until he settles into his new home. He walks nicely on a leash and harness and becomes very snuggly once he feels safe.
Cricket is heartworm positive, and due to his age, we are doing the slow‑kill method with a ProHeart injection rather than the harsher treatment. At 10 years old, this is the gentler and safer route for him.
He is sad here at the rescue. Cricket was used to being with his human all day—getting pets, love, and treats. He loves food, loves companionship, and misses having his person.
Cricket is fine with cats and generally good with other dogs, though he needs a few days to adjust to them too. Younger, bouncy dogs can overwhelm him, and he may give a little Elvis lip or growl, but he has never attacked another dog. He simply needs time, space, and patience to decompress. He lived with five other dogs previously and is currently living peacefully with dogs here.
Cricket is an emotional little guy with a lot of feelings, and it takes him a couple of days to shake them out. But once he does, he is such a good, loving, loyal boy. He just needs TLC, gentleness, and a quiet home—no young children, please.
Cricket is ready to love again. He just needs someone who will give him the time and understanding he deserves.
